Jens Osterhoff is leading the DESY's research activities in the field of plasma acceleration. He is responsible for the FLASHForward project, a next-generation beam-driven plasma wakefield experiment with the aim of further developing the technology for its future application in particle physics and in photon science. Osterhoff is also deputy speaker of the Helmholtz topic accelerator research and development. Osterhoff has a focus on the symbiosis of radio-frequency and novel acceleration technologies, beam- and laser-driven plasma wakefield acceleration and phase space characterisation of ultra-short electron bunches.
