Felix Sefkow started his career with studies on heavy quark production and decay at electron positron annihilation experiments ARGUS and ALEPH, and at the electron proton collider detector H1, at DESY and CERN. Since 2002, he is active in the development of experiments for future colliders, with an emphasis on highly granular calorimeters. He led the effort to build the first detector using silicon photomultipliers at large scale and headed the experimental tests of new calorimeter concepts as spokesman of the CALICE collaboration from 2008 - 2012.
